Xerox’s New Brand Identity for Printers

The Xerox Corporation recently unveiled the most dramatic change to its corporate identity in the company’s history. Through the development and release of a new logo, brand icon and website, Xerox shifted it’s positioning to a more contemporary and forward thinking technology-driven organization.Xerox Printer Logo

As described in a New York Times article entitled Xerox Hopes Its New Logo Doesn’t Say ‘Copier’, Xerox is trying to distance itself from being know as an outdated copy machine manufacturer. Rather, they seek to be “engaging and approachable” as well as “technologically savvy and eager to lead in the 21st century.”

As Xerox’s official press release explains, “Our new brand reflects who we are, the markets we serve and the innovation that differentiates us in our industry. We have expanded into new markets, created new businesses, acquired new capabilities, developed technologies that launched new industries — all to ensure we make it easier, faster, and less costly for our customers to share information.”
