Everyone wants to save money during these tough economic times. There are a lot of easy ways to do that which are also very eco-friendly. Here are just a few ways to stretch your dollars without sacrificing your printing.
- Print Less — There are a lot of ways to accomplish this. One of the simplest is to simply send information to friends and co-workers via e-mail, or put a document on a shared server for review electronically. You can also print or photocopy on both sides of the paper, cutting your sheet count in half.
- Printing in Draft Mode — If you aren’t checking quality or color, then printing drafts in draft mode will cut down on conserve toner use.
- Buy a New Machine — This may seem counter-intuitive at first, but there are several good reasons to do this. First, many new machines are Energy Star compliant, so they not only use less energy when they run, they will also power themselves down when not in use, saving you money. Second, many of the available MFC printers will save money, as they take the place of three machines (printer, fax, and copier).
- Use Eco-friendly Products — Most toner cartridges use some recycled parts, and there is a wide variety of good-quality paper available with 30% post-consumer content. This not only saves money, but helps to sustain our natural resources.
