Picking the Right Home Office Furniture – Part 1

Home Office Furniture – Where to Start?

office chairs, office furnitureYou spend a good portion of your day sitting in an office.  Whether you have a home office or small office, it’s important that you put extensive thought and consideration into the type of office furniture you’ll need.

The key to making sure you’re comfortable within your home office and while sitting at your office desk is maintaining a good posture throughout the day.  Poor posture can cause pain and discomfort that can easily be avoided by simply ensuring you’re using ergonomically-correct office furniture and office supplies.

To provide you with help in selecting the proper home office furniture, Concord Supplies has provided a number of tips to ensure you pick ergonomic home office furniture that will keep your body happy and healthy.

First Step: Choosing Comfortable Office Chairs

Office chair ergonomics is the idea of maintaining proper body position in order to avoid unnecessary injury or pain. Proper home office chairs may be the most important piece of home office furniture you’ll purchase.

Just consider how your body is positioned in relation to your home office computer and desk. To do it correctly, you’ll want to make sure you have an office chair that positions you upright and centered over the chair base.  Maintaining the right position in front of your keyboard and monitor is also critical. Make sure you purchase an adjustable chair so that whoever sits at one of your home office desks can modify the position of the chair so that it is the proper height and sitting position.

Ideally, you should be able to adjust the seat back, seat height, side arm rests of the home office chair so that it positions you in a straight, upright and comfortable alignment with your feet remaining flat on the floor. This approach will help ensure you’re productive and pain free throughout the day.
