Using Money Bags or Bank Bags in the Office

The safety that a business provides is critical to the office environment.  The nature of office activities and the safety procedures that are needed depends on the size, structure and mission of the business. If the office offers one-on-one client services, then the office will need to have a reception area, conference rooms, and other administrative areas to serve the clientele.money bag bank bag

Clients & Employee Safety

The introduction of clients, employees or other people who are not necessarily familiar with the building or the office routine can create safety issues. Additionally, if visiting individuals are disabled, frail or physically challenged, then mobility or sight impairment could exacerbate these safety issues. Use of restrooms or kitchen facilities by clients can pose problems if office safety practices are not in place. If clients or members of the public come to the reception area to either make donations or payment for goods and services, then money-handling could present safety and security issues.

Employees need to understand the safety practices associated with all business tasks and activities. Procedures such as money handling, cash management, package delivery and mail services, paper work filing, computer or technology system usage, and document storage can pose hazards if these activities are not in keeping with industry accepted standards and recommendations.

Setting Up a Safe Office

The office environment and layout should be evaluated to ensure that clients have adequate reception area and waiting room space, and access to those areas appropriate to a visitor.  Office safety requirements should be either posted or clearly explained to clients and/or members of the public. If money is exchanged in the reception area, at a teller window or over a counter, then specific money or banking procedures need to be put in place to safeguard these transactions. Money bag or banking bag protocols should be in place for receiving financial mail and packages and alerting authorities immediately if suspicious mail or packages  are delivered.

Money Bags and Bank Bags in the Office

One the the most critical areas of safety concerns the handling, recording, management and transportation of money. Offices must have well documented procedures for the use of money bags and bank bags to ensure the safety of its employees and clients.  This should be a core element of any office safety plan.
