Epson Stylus Photo R2880 Review – Epson R2880 Ink
The Epson Stylus Photo R1900 is a great printer. So good, it gave the Epson R2400 ink printer a run for its money.
Now, Epson has raised the bar again with the introduction of the Epson Stylus Photo R2880 (average retail price: $800). The Epson R2880 ink printer includes the new features that made the R1900 good, but also offers a new version of Epson’s UltraChrome K3 pigment-based ink set.
What qualities make the Epson R2880 ink printer so much better than the Epson R1900 ink printer? The biggest difference between the two is the Epson UltraChrome K3 inks. Epson uses a total of eight cartridges to make this printer sing.
As a leading Chicago baby photographer, Shalimar Beekman states “The Epson R2880 printer is really impresive. I’ve used a wide range of Epson printers in my children’s photographer business and this definitely is a strong addition to the family.”

But, they didn’t stop there – Epson reformulated the magenta ink cartridges with new vivid magenta versions for both the standard and light magenta ink cartridges. Those new Epson magenta inks bring with them more intense blues, purples, and reds across the entire ink cartridge offering.
Combine that ink cartridge performance with Epson’s industry leading Radiance technology and you end up with a wide color gamut and highly accurate colors. The Epson R2400 ink printer is really an exceptional machine.
