According to research commissioned by Epson, as much as 60 percent of the printer ink contained in a typical inkjet cartridge or ink cartridge is wasted. The survey firm TUV Rheinland was asked to measure how much ink is used up and how much remains in an ink cartridge when the printer claims it’s out of ink. Read more »

HP has set ambitious goals to improve the energy efficiency of its toner printers and use more recycled printer ink materials in their manufacture — and in doing so, HP intends to draw buyers’ attention to the features with a new Eco Highlights labeling plan.
